Ask Carol

Ask Carol - Dirty Fjord Rock

Ask Carol – Mountains of Cash - New Rock

We’re suckers for cool band names.  Who isn’t?  How many times have you heard a cool phrase and said, “That’s a rad name for a band!”  Anywho, that’s what peaked our interest when we first saw the name “Ask Carol,” and then we clicked on “Mountains of Cash.”  This is the White Stripes, the Donna’s, and The Clash, with a splash of Norwegian metal and Zeppelin.

The track starts with a guitar tone so heavy it sounds like they dragged it out of the fjords of their native Norway.  It drives the entire song, along with a four-on-the-floor kick pattern and thick vocals that perfectly portray the emotion of the songs content.  This song is a front to the evil forces of money, a middle finger to those whose hide behind their wealth, shielding them from the people in need, the pain of the world, it’s true honesty – equating their wealth to a disease, and they’re not wrong.  This is punk rock, pure, performed eloquently by two skillful professionals.  We love their work and hope you’ll give it a listen.

The band has been fortunate enough to do some touring through Europe and SE Asia, as well as perform at SXSW. When you see how they perform “Shining Bright” on their Insta page, you’ll be hooked.  It’s captivating.  This is a daring and inventive band.

As for their name, there’s an article on moshville.co.uk that gives the back story.  We won’t give it away, you’ll have to find it yourself.  We love innovative bands like this and look forward to their next release.
