The Outview

“Permission” Granted to bop along to this one.

Rep’ing the Pop side of ATL, these two writers are crafting gems. “Permission” is ready for radio, giving us vibes of Charlie Puth, Allan Stone and a bit of Maroon 5.

Breaking it down, it starts with some finger snaps and an opening line that opines passion. As verse grows, the passion swells as the beat intensifies and takes us to a vocally soaring chorus that has some beautiful EQ and compression on the vocals. Verse 2 takes over and passion intensifies. Good lord, the background vocals are perfect. The mood and longing explodes into the 2nd chorus, just after a brief respite of “chaos.” You gotta hear it. A solo section comes in with a sweet distorted riff that takes us to the bridge. We could go on, but you really need to hear it.

The two brothers who make up this duo have not only perfected their sound, but their look as well. As perfect as this song is, the video is just as compelling. If these guys are doing everything themselves without the help of a label or management team, all the better. The payoff will be much bigger and they’ll be able to have more control over their careers - it's safe to say they’ve figured out who they are and don’t need any help from industry “experts.”

Atlanta has long been known as THE place for Hip Hop & R&B, but The Outview remind us that it’s also an amazing place for perfect pop.
