“Broken Armour” shows vulnerability.

Listening to this track from Darla Jade, one gets the sense that she’s had more than her fair share of ups & down. Despite that, she muscles on in this beautiful track produced by Imad Salhi. Telling the listener that she’s not done fixing up her “Broken Armour,” step by step, getting a little closer - she takes us on a relatable journey.

If you’re a fan of Lights and Massie Peters, this one is right up your alley. Soft vocals, warm pads, and atmospheric tones sit atop a beautifully simple bass line and beat that do a great job to highlight the melody and message.

We liked this song so much that before we even got done listening to it, we immediately started listening to the other tracks listed on her Spotify page. “Glitch in the Matrix” is heartbreaking (if you know the backstory). “Stories on the TV” reminds us of Yaz, Erasure, Fun Boy 3 and the other great synth pop bands of the 80’s. “Ghost in Me” could easily be fed into some of the best EDM/Trance platforms on the market.

It’ll be a lot of fun to see where her writing takes her, we could easily see her blowing the walls out at Coachella.
