“Prodigal” from her debut EP “Posture”

A sweet little piano riff and subtle rhythmic undercurrent opens up the track “Prodigal” on this Alabama resident’s first EP.

Haavik has a strong alto tone and rich phrasing. The lyrics call the listener to come back home to the church - a message that any cold heart could use. They’re nicely accentuated in this solid track produced by Bryant Urich. Great drum, bass and guitar tones take the listener on a journey that builds nicely, drops out before the 3rd chorus, rebuilds, and the finishes strong. We really liked how the the 2nd verse played into the 2nd chorus and into the bridge - good song structure there, in addition to overall producing.

We also dig “Home To Me,” an up-tempo, uplifting song of praise that we could easily see be utilized at large congregations that incorporate CCM into their services.

This 6 song EP is a strong continuation of her work. Right now, she’s got roughly 20,000 monthly listeners. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if this time next year, it’s ten times that.
