It’s Not Your Movie

Here’s an impressive songwriter and singer from West Midlands that is racking up a solid resume. She’s released no fewer than 10 tracks. She’s been nominated for 'Best New Female’ at Radio WigWam, nominated for ‘Best Female 2021’ at the NMG Awards, picked for ‘Track Of The Week' for the BIMM Institute, and awarded Over 18’s Winner for Undiscovered Talent UK 2021. She’s been hitting some of the major stages around Birmingham and Coventry, as well as getting radio play around the UK and States. Why? Because she’s got a great voice, catchy tunes, and an energy that translates well through the media. Here’s our review of her latest single, “It’s Not Your Movie.”

Track starts with what sounds like a broken guitar string riff, and then we’re into a pop punk vibe with a fast beat and syncopated guitar riffs. Right away you can tell this is a singer with great range and control. She’s got a bit of Jessie J, a bit of Ariana, a bit of Joss - but she maintains her own identity through it all with solid tone through all the frequencies and a great vibrato. Really dig the chord progression change in the pre-chorus, and how the title of the song is taken from a line here - and not somewhere else - it really makes sense. Now we hit the chorus and it breaks wide open with heavier guitar tones, her beautiful falsetto, an advanced melody and nice BG’s - all while keeping the tempo and building the intensity. Second verse continues the build well and keeps the parts in their proper places - great mix. Love that pre-chorus again and we’re back to that jumping chorus. The bridge does a great job of keeping the track building, and her vocals just keep getting better. Really cool breakdown for a soft chorus before it takes off again into a full chorus and a hard stop ending. Just like the other tracks we listened to, the production here is stellar. No wonder she’s getting a lot of radio play, this is another banger for her. Lastly, we love that upstroke guitar part in the choruses that really drives it!

Make sure you check out her other tracks, too. “Money” really shows off her great voice and tone, and we love how the track is built (the kick patches in the chorus are killer!). “Bye Bitch” is a saucy banger with incredible production. “B.S” shows off more of her solid vocal capabilities and great attitude. Plus, we love that dry guitar line! This is an artist you’ll be definitely be hearing more of, soon!
