Summer Love is a meditative vibe
Far too often we get stuck in the idea that a song must have distinguishable parts – intro / verse / chorus / etc… and that each part must be good enough stand alone. But we forget that sometimes we need a vibe that stays the same (for the most part) because of the mood we’re in, the mood we need, or the intent of the artist behind the song. Such is the case with Viibez’s track, “Summer Love.”
You get the hook right off the bat, and the 3:07 track doesn’t stray too far from it, but when you understand the intent behind it’s writing – it becomes more of a meditation, and more valuable. What started as an idea to write the image of a woman he never met, became a song about how he would feel if he had the perfect woman in his life. Knowing that, the melody becomes your trance, the production your background and the subtle variations become the guide. It's an interesting track from an artist that has created a strong catalog of material on his SoundCloud page. His work is very airy – somewhere between pop and hip hop. A little bit of Post Malone, a little bit Jack Harlow. As he continues to grow as an artist and expand his repertoire of sounds, it’ll be interesting to see where he goes!
